What We Do - Australian Sports Foundation

What are you
looking for?

The number of people playing sport in Australia is in sharp decline. Athletes struggle to pay for sporting gear or for competition related travel. Grassroots clubs are resorting to using old and tired equipment.

While we all love our sport even the most basic of sporting endeavours requires funds. Unfortunately despite our love, sport is severely underfunded with many people struggling to afford the cost of play.

The Australian Sports Foundation has been helping athletes, sporting clubs and organisations fundraise for more than 30 years.

To further address the funding shortfall the Sports Foundation has successfully gained charitable status to enable private and public ancillary funds to invest in a sporting future where everyone can play.

We help Australian sporting clubs and individuals
 raise funds for their sport.

Our Foundation's Focus

Active Kids

We want to get kids off the couch and on to the playing field. Active kids are healthier, less likely to be obese and more likely to become active adults.

Diversity & inclusion

Everyone has a right to enjoy sport regardless of their ability, or their cultural, social or economic background.

Women in Sport

Women and girls face unique barriers to sport participation, yet deserve the same opportunities.

Sport for all

We help fund community-based organisations, schools and clubs to boost participation in grassroot and community sport.

Monique Lawrence - Ice Skating

Monique raised nearly $3,000 to cover flights, accommodation and entry to the Singapore’s National Figure Skating Championships where she won first place.

Wambui Taylor - Tennis

A family tragedy was the catalyst for young Wambui Taylor's start to playing tennis, who hasn't looked back since.
